Intermittent rain with thunderstorms continues to lash various parts of West Bengal, including Kolkata, as per the Meteorological Department's latest statement.
The state has been receiving showers for a week, leading to flooding in some areas and an increase in viral diseases. Kolkata's maximum temperature has fallen to 29.1 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature is 21.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal.
In the past 24 hours, 8.3 mm of rainfall has been recorded. Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura, and other parts of the state will continue to receive rainfall throughout the day until Sunday. A change in weather conditions is anticipated in the middle of next week.
